Reports suggesting that Mohamed Salah was close to joining Besiktas have been refuted by his agent. The agent indicated that no decision has been made regarding the former Liverpool winger’s future, despite widespread speculation.
Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, addressed the rumours on X, stating, “I personally do not know where Mohamed will play next season. What does that tell you?” He also commented earlier that it is not their practice to engage in discussions with clubs that Mohamed would not be interested in joining, merely to create noise.
Salah’s Liverpool tenure and future
Mohamed Salah concluded his nine-year spell at Anfield after reaching an agreement with Liverpool to cancel his contract at the end of last season. During his time with the Reds, Salah achieved significant success, including winning two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the Club World Cup, and the Community Shield.
He made 315 Premier League appearances for Liverpool, placing him fifth in the club’s history for appearances in the competition. Salah is also one of ten players to lead a club in both goals and assists in the Premier League, having scored 191 goals in the competition.
Salah, 34, has been frequently linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in recent years. However, reports suggest that his financial demands may be deterring some Saudi clubs.
