The food safety commissionerate conducted a major crackdown on expired food products in Jaipur. This operation was part of ongoing efforts to ensure public health and safety, particularly concerning food quality and compliance with regulations.

In a significant development, authorities seized 1.5 lakh kg of expired food products, including noodles, ketchup, mayonnaise, and energy drinks. The warehouse from which these products were confiscated operated under suspicious conditions, with an expired food license.

In a separate incident in Arunachal Pradesh, police intercepted 26 grams of heroin valued at Rs 1.37 lakh. This seizure occurred during a police raid, where the narcotics were recovered from a sling bag possessed by a suspect.

Fake Raid Incident

Additionally, two individuals were arrested in New Friends Colony, New Delhi, for staging a fake Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid. The suspects coerced family members and confiscated mobile devices, escaping with approximately ₹3-4 lakh and seven luxury watches.

The police traced the suspects’ route using over 350 CCTV feeds, which aided in their apprehension. During the investigation, authorities recovered an ITBP Dy Commandant uniform and a fake ID card from the suspects.

Authorities have taken decisive action against the businesses involved in the expired food products case, with the food safety team collecting samples, seizing stock, machines, and sealing the premises. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 21 (b) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
