Rgpv: Controversy Erupts at Over Alleged Lizard in Hostel Meal

rgpv — IN news

Hostel food often becomes a topic of debate regarding hygiene, trust, and accountability. Recently, a disturbing incident at the University Institute of Technology, RGPV in Bhopal, India, has amplified these concerns. A student claimed to have discovered a lizard in his meal, igniting a firestorm of reactions on social media.

The incident unfolded when the student, visibly upset, questioned the unusual object in his food, asserting it had a lizard’s eye. “Bhai saab, yeh kya hai, dekh lo,” he exclaimed, drawing attention to the alarming find. In an attempt to dismiss the student’s claim, a mess staff member insisted the object was merely capsicum, even going so far as to eat it to prove his point. “Shimla mirch hai yaar,” he stated, attempting to calm the situation.

However, the student’s insistence that the object resembled a lizard raised eyebrows. He described it as having a lizard’s eye, further fueling the debate. The incident was captured on video and quickly went viral, prompting outrage among students and parents alike.

In response to the uproar, RGPV has formed a committee to investigate the matter thoroughly. The canteen operator has denied the allegations, maintaining that the item in question was indeed capsicum. Yet, the student’s claims have led to serious concerns about food safety and hygiene standards within the university’s mess.

RGPV Director Sudhir Bhadoria addressed the situation, assuring students that their health would not be compromised. He emphasized that strict action would follow if any negligence was found during the investigation. “When your defence strategy is literally to ‘eat’ the crime scene,” an observer remarked, highlighting the absurdity of the staff member’s actions.

As the investigation unfolds, details remain unconfirmed regarding the true nature of the object found in the meal. The university community is left anxiously awaiting the findings, hoping for accountability and improved standards in their dining facilities.
